We are all gifted with the essence of intuition. As we stroll, stumble or race through life, we look for signposts to guide us as we navigate our journey.
Each month, we will be peering into the nuances of each Major Arcana card in the Tarot deck and delve into its interpretation in that cycle.
Each Major Arcana card in the Tarot, typifies a particular Solar Cycle, a Theme and a Numerological insight. Major Arcana cards are 22 in number and typify each of the 22 Hebrew letters that are described poetically in Psalm 119 of the Holy Bible. Each Hebrew letter is more than a letter or even a word. - Rather it is a conceptual representation of how the Higher Self is expressed in our earthbound existence.
As we move toward the Winter Solstice this December, the Sun is in Sagittarius. This Solar period occurs between November 22nd and December 21st. The Major Arcana card that reflects this cycle is TEMPERANCE. This card represents the principle of integration, synergy and synthesis. The esoteric title of this card is the Daughter of the Reconcilers. On the tree of life, it is the 25th Path of Wisdom called Samekh and the part of the journey that takes one from the Moon (Yesod) to the Sun (Tiphareth). The aspiration associated with this card is to elevate the Personality to the Higher Self.
In Numerology, Temperance is the 14th Key and shares a kinship with the 5th Key of the Hierophant, or the Inner Teacher and the principles of teaching and learning. If your birthday or your current numerological year adds up to 14 (1+4=5), polarities, paradoxes and the art of integration will be extremely apparent. The 5's in the pips or Minor Arcana cards express the challenges you will face to honor both Temperance and the Hierophant. If the Hierophant or Temperance present in a spread with accompanying 5's, they illuminate the discovery of inner Divinity through confrontation.

As we move into the next Solar period of Capricorn December 21st through January 20th, The Major Arcana card that reflects this cycle is The DEVIL. This card represents the principle of what bedevils us, illusion, irrational fears and our wild side. In some decks, we see this card depicted as Pan, the smiling Goat calling us to keep a sense of humor and perhaps take ourselves (Ego) less seriously. The esoteric title of this card is the Lord of the Gates of Matter or the Child of the Forces of Time. On the tree of life, it is the 26th Path of Wisdom called Ayin and the part of the journey that takes one from the Sun (Tiphareth) to the sphere of Mercury (Hod). The aspiration associated with this card is to create a bridge between personality and individuality and reflects Renovating Intelligence. Many cringe or feel anxiety in the face of this card but this card often appears in a spread when we are faced with how to use our personal power.
In numerology, the Devil is the 15th Key and shares a kinship with the 6th Key of the Lovers, or the art of relating to others as well as our very existence. If your birthday or your current numerological year adds up to 15 (1+5=6), polarities, you will need to apply a sense of humor and perspective to your life as you court stability. The 6's in the pips or Minor Arcana cards express the mental challenges you will face to deeply understand the essence of the Devil and the Lovers cards. If the Devil or the Lovers card present in a spread with accompanying 6's, they illuminate the art of relating both within and without to the World as well as to the Higher Universe.
